eSIM guides by country

Pick your destination for a simple, step-by-step guide to staying connected: what an eSIM is, whether you need one, and exactly how to set it up before you fly.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone. Instead of buying a tiny plastic card, you buy a data plan online and scan a QR code. You keep your own phone number for calls and texts, and the eSIM adds mobile data for your trip, so maps, taxis and messaging work the moment you land.

Not sure whether you need one? Each guide explains, and also covers how to check your phone can use one.
